8.1.1.2. Deformation zone

To reduce damage of salon, forward and back frames which are deformed at blow are developed and effectively absorb/disseminate energy of collision.
At moderate head-on collisions in a zone of the amplifier of a bumper the blow dissipates to forward side frames and elements of a forward suspension bracket.

Fig. 8.2. Zones of deformation of a body: 1 – energy of collision; 2 – forward amplifier of a bumper; 3 – forward side frame; 4 – forward cross-piece; 5 – caisson; 6 – side longitudinal beam; 7 – forward In-shaped frame

If collision happens close to salon, energy of blow dissipates side longitudinal beams and forward B-shaped frames through a caisson, reducing blow to salon.
