1.4.4.15. Check of level of electrolyte

At the low level of electrolyte the capacity of the rechargeable battery decreases and it is quickly discharged.

Check electrolyte level in the rechargeable battery of times a week. If electrolyte level in the battery low, uncover accumulators and add necessary amount of the distilled water. Level of electrolyte has to settle down between the lower and top tags on a wall of the case (fig. 1.184).
Do not pour the distilled water above the top tag.
Check electrolyte density in the rechargeable battery by means of a hydrometer. Maintenance of the required density of electrolyte is especially important in cold season. If electrolyte density low, charge the rechargeable battery.
