2.1.1.13. The valvate mechanism – general information

Each cylinder has two inlet and two final channels. 16 valves are directly put in action by two cam-shafts. On engines of the L3 model the mechanism of change of phases of gas distribution which provides the best moment of opening or closing of valves is used, depending on traffic conditions constantly changing phases of a cam-shaft of inlet channels (fig. 2.20).
